Overview

The new generation of Raspberry Pi 5 surpasses the pinnacle of the Raspberry Pi 4, marking the latest addition to the esteemed Raspberry Pi family of computers. With a CPU that's 2-3 times more powerful, an upgraded GPU, and enhanced camera, display, and USB interfaces, this model sets a new standard. This innovation is driven by Raspberry Pi's proprietary RP1 I/O control chip, a first for a flagship product! Responding to popular demand, Raspberry Pi 5 introduces two new features to streamline sales and traceability:

1) Each board is marked on the upper PCB side to indicate the specific memory density fitted, as illustrated in the accompanying graphic.
2) Every board comes with a unique serial number on both the PCB and the individual carton, allowing for precise shipment tracking. You must record these serial numbers during the outbound shipping process. Full shipments of 180 boards include an external barcode for content recording.

The redesigned case for Raspberry Pi 5 offers improved thermal features to support higher peak power consumption. It includes a variable-speed fan, powered and controlled via a dedicated connector on the PCB.

Available in our signature red/white at launch, with black/grey to follow.

Accessories - 27W USB-C PD Power Supply

Our new 27W USB-C PD (Power Delivery) Power Supply delivers up to 5.1V, 5A, enabling Raspberry Pi 5 to support a broader range of peripherals. By default, total power from the four USB ports is limited to 600mA, automatically increasing to 1.6A when the USB-C PD is detected.
Capable of delivering 3A @ 9V, 2.25A @ 12V, and 1.8A @ 15V to PD-compatible products, making it a versatile and affordable power supply for various non-Raspberry Pi applications.

Accessories - Active Cooler

The Active Cooler is an alternative solution for sustained heavy load use without a case. It combines a large metal heatsink with a variable-speed blower, powered via the fan connector, and attaches to the PCB with sprung pins into mounting holes.

Accessories - RTC Battery

The power-management IC on Raspberry Pi 5 includes a real-time clock and charging circuitry for a button cell, powering the clock when the main power is disconnected.

We offer a Panasonic ML-2020 Lithium Manganese Dioxide battery with a two-pin plug for connection to the PCB battery connector, and an adhesive pad for convenient attachment.

Accessories - Camera and Display Adapter Cables

Raspberry Pi 5 features two four-lane MIPI connectors supporting either a camera or display. Using the same 22-way, 0.5mm-pitch 'mini' FPC format as the Compute Module Development Kit, they require adapter cables to connect to current camera and display products' 15-way, 1mm-pitch 'standard' format.

We offer mini-to-standard adapter cables for cameras and displays in 200mm, 300mm, and 500mm lengths.
Please remember: A camera cable is strictly meant for cameras and should never be used with a display, and vice versa!
