Overview

The new generation of Raspberry Pi 5 surpasses the pinnacle set by Raspberry Pi 4, marking the latest milestone in the Raspberry Pi family of computers. Featuring a CPU that is 2-3 times more powerful, a significantly upgraded GPU, and enhanced camera, display, and USB interfaces, Raspberry Pi 5 is designed for unparalleled performance. These innovations are driven by Raspberry Pi's proprietary RP1 I/O control chip, the first flagship product to feature a Raspberry Pi chip! Due to high demand, Raspberry Pi 5 incorporates two new features for tracking sales and potential returns of the product:

1) Each board includes a marking on the upper side of the PCB to identify the specific memory density fitted to the board (visible in the graphic above).
2) All boards come with a unique serial number on the PCB and the individual carton, enabling you to trace which boards have been shipped to specific customers. To utilize this, you must record serial numbers during your outbound shipping process. Full shippers of 180 boards also feature an external barcode for recording the contents of each shipper.

Accessories - Raspberry Pi 5 case

The new Raspberry Pi 5 case is an enhanced version of the Raspberry Pi 4 case, designed with improved thermal features to support the higher power consumption of Raspberry Pi 5. It integrates a variable-speed fan, powered and controlled from a dedicated connector on the Raspberry Pi 5 PCB.

The case is available in our signature red/white color scheme at launch, with a black/grey version to follow.

Accessories - 27W USB-C PD Power Supply

The advanced 27W USB-C PD (Power Delivery) Power Supply delivers up to 5.1V, 5A, empowering Raspberry Pi 5 to support a wider array of peripherals. By default, the total power drawn from the four USB ports on Raspberry Pi 5 is limited to a nominal 600mA; this limit is automatically increased to 1.6A when the USB-C PD Power Supply is detected.
Additionally, the USB-C PD Power Supply can deliver 3A at 9V, 2.25A at 12V, and 1.8A at 15V to PD-compatible products, making it an economical power solution for various general-purpose, non-Raspberry Pi applications.

Accessories - Active cooler

The Active Cooler offers an alternative cooling solution for users who need to operate their Raspberry Pi 5 under sustained heavy loads without using a case. It combines a large metal heatsink with a variable-speed blower, powered and controlled via the fan connector, and attaches to the Raspberry Pi 5 PCB using sprung pins into a pair of mounting holes.

Accessories - RTC battery

The power-management IC on Raspberry Pi 5 includes an integrated real-time clock and charging circuitry for a button cell battery, which can power the clock when the main power is disconnected.

We offer a Panasonic ML-2020 Lithium Manganese Dioxide battery with a two-pin plug suitable for connection to the battery connector on the Raspberry Pi 5 PCB. It also includes a double-sided adhesive pad for attaching it inside a case or another convenient location.

Accessories - Camera and display adapter cables

Raspberry Pi 5 features two four-lane MIPI connectors, each capable of supporting either a camera or a display. These connectors use the same 22-way, 0.5mm-pitch "mini" FPC format as the Compute Module Development Kit and require adapter cables to connect to the 15-way, 1mm-pitch "standard" format connectors in our current camera and display products.

We offer mini-to-standard adapter cables for cameras and displays in lengths of 200mm, 300mm, and 500mm.
Please ensure you do not interchange the camera cable with the display cable, as each serves a distinct purpose.
