Overview

The new generation of Raspberry Pi 5 surpasses its predecessor, the Raspberry Pi 4, establishing a new pinnacle in the Raspberry Pi family. This latest addition features a CPU that is 2-3 times more powerful and a significantly upgraded GPU. Enhanced camera, display, and USB interfaces contribute to its superior performance. For the first time, a Raspberry Pi flagship product incorporates the RP1 I/O control chip, reflecting Raspberry Pi's commitment to innovation. Responding to popular demand, Raspberry Pi 5 introduces two revolutionary features for tracking sales and potential returns:

1) Each board includes a marking on the upper side of the PCB, identifying the memory density fitted to that specific board (visible in the graphic above).
2) Every board carries a unique serial number on both the PCB and the individual carton, allowing for precise tracking of shipments to specific customers. This requires recording serial numbers during the outbound shipping process. Shippers containing 180 boards feature an external barcode for easy content recording.

Accessories - Raspberry Pi 5 Case

The new Raspberry Pi 5 case is an advancement of the Raspberry Pi 4 case, designed to support the higher power consumption with improved thermal features. It integrates a variable-speed fan powered and controlled via a dedicated connector on the Raspberry Pi 5 PCB.

The case is initially available in our signature red/white color scheme, with a black/grey option to follow soon.

Accessories - 27W USB-C PD Power Supply

The new 27W USB-C PD (Power Delivery) Power Supply provides up to 5.1V, 5A, enabling the Raspberry Pi 5 to power a wider range of peripherals. By default, the total power drawn from the four USB ports on the Raspberry Pi 5 is limited to 600mA, which automatically increases to 1.6A when the USB-C PD Power Supply is detected.
Additionally, the USB-C PD Power Supply can deliver 3A @ 9V, 2.25A @ 12V, and 1.8A @ 15V to PD-compatible products, making it an excellent cost-effective power supply for various general-purpose applications beyond Raspberry Pi.

Accessories - Active Cooler

The Active Cooler provides an efficient cooling solution for users running their Raspberry Pi 5 under sustained heavy loads without a case. It combines a large metal heatsink with a variable-speed blower, powered and controlled through the fan connector. The cooler attaches to the Raspberry Pi 5 PCB using sprung pins inserted into designated mounting holes.

Accessories - RTC Battery

The power-management IC in the Raspberry Pi 5 integrates a real-time clock and charging circuitry for a button cell, ensuring the clock remains powered even when the main power is disconnected.

We offer a Panasonic ML-2020 Lithium Manganese Dioxide battery, featuring a two-pin plug compatible with the battery connector on the Raspberry Pi 5 PCB, along with a double-sided adhesive pad for convenient attachment inside a case or other suitable locations.

Accessories - Camera and Display Adapter Cables

Raspberry Pi 5 includes two four-lane MIPI connectors that can each support either a camera or a display. These connectors adhere to the 22-way, 0.5mm-pitch 'mini' FPC format, similar to the Compute Module Development Kit, necessitating adapter cables to connect to the 15-way, 1mm-pitch 'standard' format connectors used by current camera and display products.

We offer mini-to-standard adapter cables for cameras and displays in lengths of 200mm, 300mm, and 500mm.
Please be aware that the camera cable is specifically designed for camera use only and should not be interchanged with display cables, and vice versa.
